Skin Resurfacing & Tightening

Skin Resurfacing & Tightening with Morpheus8 & Opus

Morpheus 8

What are the Benefits?

Morpheus8 is an advanced microneedling and fractional radiofrequency (RF) device that penetrates skin more deeply than any other microneedling device on the market, stimulating deep into the layers of skin AND fat.  Suitable for all skin types, it will tighten, lift, and smooth lax areas and can address fine lines and wrinkling, sagging, discoloration, acne scarring, and stretch marks.

What to Expect?

While most people find Morpheus8 easily tolerated, a local anesthetic or topical numbing cream will be applied before beginning the treatment. The hand piece will then be moved along the predetermined area of tissue, gently passing the patented device over the skin. As the micro-pins brush the surface, fractional RF energy is delivered to the deepest tissues.

What to Avoid Prior to Treatment?

Four days prior to treatment sun exposure should be avoided and use of all topical retinoids and vitamin C products should be discontinued.

How Quickly Will I See Results?

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Depending on your Morpheus 8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions.

Morpheus 8 Pre-Treatment Instructions

  • Fitzpatrick Skin types IV-VI must prep skin 4 weeks pre-treatment with CBD skin brightening serum or Glytone Enhanced Brightening Complex and continue 4 weeks post-treatment.
  • Ask your provider if you are unsure which skin type you have.
  • Results from Morpheus8 treatment may be seen in a few days but will be most noticeable beginning at 3 weeks, with full results at 3 months post-treatment.
  • Morpheus8 is a collagen-building treatment. Results may be optimized by using Alastin Skin Nectar for 2 weeks prior to your treatment to clear old, disorganized collagen and prepare for new collagen formation.
  • Hydrate – moisturize skin in the morning and evening, and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to completely hydrate your skin and optimize treatment results.
  • If you have a history of Herpes Simplex, please ask us to prescribe an antiviral medication when scheduling. This should be taken the day before, the day of, and a day after your procedure. If you are experiencing an active outbreak in the area to be treated, please reschedule as we will be unable to perform your procedure.
  • Topical retinoid therapy should be discontinued 3-4 days prior to treatment. Discontinue any irritating topical agents for 2-3 days prior to treatment.
  • The treatment area will be thoroughly cleaned, including topical anesthetics, hairspray, gel, makeup, lotions, deodorants, self-tanning products, and ointments.
  • Avoid taking anticoagulants for 10 days before treatment if medical conditions allow. Consult with your physician.
  • Arrive for treatment with clean skin. There should be no hair products, deodorant, self-tanners, ointments, lotion, make-up, perfume, powder, or bath/shower oil present on the skin in the area to be treated.
  • Due to the body’s inflammatory response to Covid-19 and other viruses, we ask that you postpone your procedure 2 weeks after being symptom-free. This helps minimize post-procedure inflammatory responses your body may experience.

Morpheus 8 Post Procedure Instructions

  • Immediately after treatment, most patients will experience a clinical endpoint of erythema (redness) for 1-3 days. However, for more aggressive treatments, this may last longer. Slight to moderate edema (swelling) and a mild to moderate sunburn sensation are also common post- treatment and may last 1-3 days. Depending on treatment settings, the skin may crust and peel for 2-7 days.
  • A topical ointment may be applied to the treatment area. Your practitioner will recommend topical moisturizers post-treatment. If you elect to use your own products, they need to be fragrance and chemical free for 5 days post-treatment. No bandages or wraps are necessary. Your provider will inform you when you may resume using your usual skincare products.
  • Treat the skin gently. Avoid scrubbing or trauma to the treated area. Use water only or a gentle cleanser for the first 24-72 hours.
  • Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation (darker pigmentation). Use a sunblock of SPF 30+ after 24-48 hours.
  • Multiple treatments over a period of several months may be required to achieve the desired response. You may notice immediate as well as longer-term improvements in your skin.

Carboxy Gel Mask Post-Care Instructions (For those who choose this as an optional topical add-on) Leave the Carboxy gel mask on for a minimum of 50 minutes. With clean hands, peel off the mask and rinse with lukewarm water to remove any remaining product.

If you purchased an AVENE SOS post-recovery kit, apply a thin layer of Cilalfate 2x per day.

Opus Plasma Resurfacing

Plasma is the latest and most effective treatment method to enter the cosmetic treatment industry. A step above laser treatments, it can achieve excellent results through fractional skin resurfacing and benefit your skin in a variety of ways.

As one of our latest and most advanced technologies, we’re excited to help patients achieve their best skin yet with Opus Plasma™ skin resurfacing.

Treats:

  • Acne scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Pigmentation
  • Dullness and texture
  • Stretch Marks

How Does it Work?

Opus Plasma uses high-frequency unipolar radiofrequency energy to create tiny channels in the skin and jumpstart its natural collagen production through a wound-healing response. This technique is similar to microneedling, except that it uses microplasma technology and is the first of its kind. Although laser treatments can produce the same technique, the use of microplasma comes with unparalleled precision when controlling contact with the skin and reducing unwanted inflammation.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

One of the biggest benefits of Opus Plasma is that it can be used on many areas of the face and neck that are often avoided with treatments like microneedling. This means you can treat sensitive areas around the eyes. Opus Plasma offers unparalleled customizability for your treatments, so your specialist can create the ideal treatment plan for you and your skincare goals. We can treat the face, neck, and most body parts.

What Does It Feel Like?

Opus Plasma treatment is tolerable for most patients, especially with the use of a topical anesthetic. This can alleviate most discomfort so that the treatment is well tolerated.

How Long Does It Take?

Although your unique treatment session will depend on your skincare goals and which areas, you’ll have treated, Opus Plasma treatments can take between 15 and 30 minutes. This may also be longer or shorter depending on if you opt for a topical anesthetic or treat multiple areas in the same treatment.

What Can I Expect Afterward?

Because of Opus Plasma’s state-of-the-art technology and approach, patients experience drastically less downtime versus other laser treatments. You can expect about one to two days of redness and swelling with tiny carbon crusts that usually flake off at day4-5.

You can generally return to your regular schedule immediately after treatment. You’ll receive detailed instructions what to do post-treatment that might include skincare products to use or avoid, as well as the importance of using sunscreen in the days following your treatment.

How Many Opus Plasma Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients require a package of treatments for best results, so your specialist will make sure you understand when to return for your next session. We recommend two or three sessions for best results, but you’ll likely see noticeable results after your first treatment.

Opus Plasma comes with a lot of benefits and is one of the most advanced skincare treatments on the market. To learn more and create a customized treatment package, contact us via email info@vibrantmedspa.com or call our office at 512-716-3900.
