Hair Loss Treatment
What is Alma TED®?
Developed by Alma, Inc., TED (TransEpidermal Delivery) is a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment for patients who are experiencing shedding, hair loss, and/or thinning hair.
Anyone suffering from hair loss who would like to improve the thickness, health, and strength of their hair is a likely candidate for these quick, pain-free treatments with no downtime.
How does it work?
Alma TED is a painless procedure that opens the skin channels using ultrasonic technology. The device then uses air pressure to drive a proprietary solution of peptides, growth factors, and nutrients about 4mm deep into the scalp.
Is it safe?
Yes, it has been cleared by the FDA.
Who is a good candidate for Alma TED®?
Alma TED was developed to be used on an individual suffering from shedding, hair loss, and/or wanting to improve their hair’s overall thickness and appearance. Beards can also be treated as well.
During your initial appointment, we’ll assess your scalp and ask several questions to determine if you’re a viable candidate. You won’t be charged if after the evaluation we determine with certainty that this treatment will be ineffective.
Cancer patients can receive this treatment. A waiting period after final cancer treatment may be required, and we request written approval from your physician. We’re happy to provide additional technical information upon request.
What can I expect during the procedure?
Appointments are 45-60 minutes. The initial appointment involves a consultation to assess your scalp and ask several questions to personalize the best treatment plan for you. During each appointment, we will:
- Apply a topical solution using a wand to drive the product into the scalp. You’ll feel a warm, vibrating sensation. You may also experience ringing in your ears during the treatment.
- Take detailed photos with our GroTrack® device to document your progress.
How soon will I see the results?
Because each hair follicle has three growth cycles, you’ll need at least three consecutive monthly sessions. You may notice small improvements as early as one month following your first procedure.
Approximately 4-6 weeks after your third treatment, you’ll return for evaluation to determine if you’re ready for a maintenance plan or would like additional monthly treatments. Most clients achieve final results with 3-5 treatments with maintenance sessions once or twice a year.
Pre-Procedure Instructions
- Avoid any chemical treatments on your hair 24 hours prior to procedure.
- Arrive with clean (washed, not dry shampoo), and dry hair. Once rinsed, you shouldn’t apply hair products of any kind.
- If you have long, curly, or tangle-prone hair, please brush or detangle it before you arrive.
- Discontinue use of topical Minoxidil or Finasteride products 24 hours before procedure. You may resume applications 24 hours post-procedure. It’s okay to continue the use of these products if taken orally.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Do not wash hair or apply hair coloring for 24 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid wearing hats as much as possible going forward as it can hinder the growth process.
- Maintenance sessions once or twice per year are suggested to maintain results.
